	What is RSS?

Wendy, what is a spirit guide and how do we know we are guided by a spirit. I know many people who could be deceived by this, how do you prove what you believe? Lennie

Hi Lennie, spirit guides are spirits that work alongside us to guide us on our life path. There are spirits on all levels in the spirit realms and everyone is influenced by them. However, those who have knowledge of spirits, seek to be guided by advanced spirits that can guide us to walk a path of wisdom, caring, peace, justice and other spiritual values. You would know if someone was guided by an advanced spirit by the way they choose to live their life.

If someone has a native american spirit guide, they are guided to care for weak and disabled in their community, would honour animals and give thanks for them, love the seasons, know the landscape, enjoy crafts, and would be hardworking and skillful. They would be guided to be involved with ecology and community work.

Someone with a Chinese guide would probably be a very balanced character, slow to anger and be considerate and kind and might be interested in I Ching Book of Changes. Most advanced Chinese guides were followers of the Way, the Tao Te Ching.

Each culture and country around the world has had advanced souls who have led an exemplary life of kindness and generosity. When in the spirit world, they continue to learn so that when they guide a person, they can influence the person to change their life in a beneficial way, for the highest good.

We are in the physical realm and need to eat and have somewhere to sleep. We have a mind unseen that needs stimulating so we can continue to learn. We have an unseen emotional life, we grieve when bereaved, we laugh, we feel fear about the future, so we need to mature and develop our emotions so we are able to withstand difficulties and frustrations. Our spiritual life is dependent on the way we treat other people, the planet and ourselves. If we treat others badly, do not care for the planet's dwindling resources and do not respect and care for ourselves, we are not being guided by an advanced spirit. However, if we are thoughtful and considerate and put the needs of others before our own wants, then we are likely to be being guided by a spirit of some distinction.

Dear Naima, you have raised an important point. God is eternal and beyond our comprehension as the Creator of the Universes (it is suggested there are many), he is vast and unknowable. It says in the Bible, he makes the sun shine on the righteous and the unrighteous, and this accounts for natural disasters and why innocent people suffer. However, we humans must judge those who harm to others. We must also make judgements about our own life and whether we are contributing to creating a better, safer and healthier world.
What a wonderful journey you have experienced, Naima. I would love to hear more of your visit to S America and especially about the beauty of the rainforest and your vision quest.

I live in guatemala & mexico for 3 years and people with little possessions gave me most as our relationship was based on the heart rather than the mind. they had nothing to lose and gave me everything they could. very humbling experience! the rainforest was amazing and I could hear the voices of the spirit world when I was on my own in the rainforest after 9 months of crying my ego out! Thank you for reading, for sharing and loving unconditionally! I can feel it. Blessings

But we are so fortunate because we have access to education, knowledge and communication. I believe we have greater responsibility due to this than those who do not have them. Their lives might just be only just managing to eat and put a roof over their heads and those of their families, they may be at war or be spiritually disabled in other ways. I think they will be kindly looked upon by the spirit world due to their difficult circumstances. We have so much and therefore we will be judged more seriously for our failings. What do you think?

I believe that we have a choice of living our life in the highest & best way and for our highest good. We choose to live consciously or not and spirit guides are not really responsible for our actions & attitudes about life & all living creatures. If we ask to be gided by the highest & purest light only, then this is what the universe will give us. Ask & it is given...good article thank you for sharing. Blessings Naima
